The New York Jets will host the Cincinnati Bengals Thanksgiving Night with a kickoff time set for 8:25 PM ET and a broadcast on the NFL Network. The Jets opened at Sports-Gambling as 9 point favorites with an over/under of 43.5. This game is a rematch from last year’s AFC playoffs in which the Jets upset the Bengals at Cincinnati.
The Cincinnati Bengals have a betting on NFL football record of 2-8 straight up and 3-7 against the spread with 6 of their games going over the total. The Bengals are in last place in the AFC North after winning the division last year.
It is beyond disappointing for the Bengals and owner Mike Brown considering they spent a considerable amount of money in the attempt to spark the offensive attack. Instead Cincinnati has been bad on both sides of the line ranking 20th for scoring offense and an even worse 26th for scoring defense.
The Bengals have reached rock bottom as they are coming off a 49-31 home loss to the lowly Buffalo Bills as they blew a 31-14 halftime lead.
The New York Jets were known all summer for their bragging and swagger and have lived up to it all as they have a record of 8-2 straight up and 6-4 with the NFL gambling odds as 8 of their games have gone over the total. The Jets are tied for first place with New England in the AFC East.
Defense remains the hallmark of the Jets are they are ranked 5th in the NFL for defensive points allowed but the big difference from last year is the improved play of 2nd year quarterback Mark Sanchez as he has dramatically cut down on mistakes while becoming a better field general.
LaDainian Tomlinson was written off by San Diego as washed up but he has enjoyed a career renaissance with the Jets as he leads them with 684 yards rushing. The Jets have proven to be one of the better balanced teams in NFL betting.
