NFL sports betting on the Ravens in the preseason, however, may be an entirely different NFL football gambling proposition, especially this year with some changes looming. The Ravens were just 1-3 both straight up and against the spread in the 2008 NFL sports betting preseason before their phenomenal regular and post season NFL football gambling run.
And this year could be just as bad. The Ravens lost defensive coordinator Rex Ryan to the New York Jets where he took over as head coach. This means that the Ravens will spend the NFL sports betting preseason getting used to a new defensive coordinator.
They will also want to give a lot of time to the backups of quarterback Joe Flacco during the NFL sports betting exhibition season. Beyond that the Ravens are established NFL sports betting contenders that have little to gain from preseason action.
The Ravens open the NFL sports betting preseason August 13 at home against the Washington Redskins, who had a bad ending to last year and would certainly like to get back on track with an attitude adjustment. The Redskins were tough last preseason and might make for a solid NFL sports betting value here.
Next Baltimore hosts the New York Jets on August 24. This is the homecoming game for Ryan which makes for a nice NFL sports betting preseason intangible. It’s Baltimore’s last home preseason game which may make them more motivated, however.
On August 29 the Ravens travel to Carolina to face the Panthers. Neither team has much to gain from this matchup as both are favorites to make the playoffs so it could be ugly with a lot of substitutions and sloppy play.
The Preseason finale is at Atlanta on September 3 as the Falcons will be as motivated as the Ravens to avoid injury and enter regular season play healthy.
