NFL Gambling Saints Preseason Roster Highlights
NFL gambling fans expect another high octane effort from quarterback Drew Brees and company but the preseason will be devoted to defensive improvement against the NFL lines. The Saints demonstrated to everyone that they were serious about improving on defense for the 2009 NFL gambling campaign as their first 3 draft picks were from that side of the line.
Cornerback Malcolm Jenkins was their first round selection out of Ohio State. Safety Chip Vaughn out of Wake Forest went 2nd for the Saints in the draft while their 3rd round draft pick was inside linebacker Stanley Arnoux, also out of Wake Forest. All three should see plenty of preseason action against the NFL lines.
One player that does not figure to see much NFL gambling action in the preseason is Brees, who threw for 5069 yards and 34 touchdown passes last year. Brees is backed up by Mark Brunell, a 17 year veteran out of Washington.
A longtime starter with the Jacksonville Jaguars from 1995-2003, Brunell later played 3 seasons with the Washington Redskins before joining the Saints in the 2008 NFL gambling season where he failed to threw a single pass.
Brunell has a career NFL gambling quarterback rating of 84 and has thrown 182 touchdown passes with 106 interceptions. 8 year pro Joey Harrington out of Oregon will also see plenty of NFL gambling preseason action.
Harrington was a number one draft pick of the Detroit Lions for the 2002 NFL gambling campaign but has failed to play up to that status in a disappointing career in which he has a 69 quarterback rating with 79 touchdown passes and 85 interceptions. Harrington last played in the 2007 NFL gambling season for the Atlanta Falcons.
Kicker Garrett Hartley was a perfect 13-13 on field goals as a rookie from Oklahoma last year and could give the Saints a preseason edge with his toe.
Sports-Gambling.com is the ultimate home for NFL action beginning with the August 9 Hall of Fame Game.
