NFL Gambling on Raiders at Seahawks

NFL gambling includes an inter-conference matchup of teams trying to get back on track against the NFL lines after horrible 2008 seasons.

NFL gambling fans have had the usual quirky news out of Oakland this preseason while Seattle looks poised for a return to playoff contention against the NFL lines.  The biggest news out of Oakland so far in the NFL gambling preseason were allegations that head coach Tom Cable shattered an assistant coach’s jaw during a fight in a meeting.

While nobody can seem to get the straight story the one constant from the Raiders is their continuous distractions.  Despite it all they have covered 2 out of 3 preseason games against the NFL lines while going 1-2 straight up.  All of Oakland’s exhibition games have gone over the NFL gambling total.

Last week the Raiders laid a real stink bomb at home, however, as they were annihilated by the New Orleans Saints 7-45 as 2.5-point dogs.  The Seattle Seahawks are a perfect 3-0 straight up and against the NFL gambling board in preseason action with 2 out of those 3 games having gone under the total.

Last week the Seahawks earned a NFL gambling payoff at Kansas City with a 14-10 win as 3-point road dogs as the game stayed under the NFL gambling total of 39.  The Seattle Seahawks have a new and improved attitude with new coach Jim Mora, Jr. and the return of starting quarterback Matt Hasselbeck, who missed last season due to injury.

Hasselbeck looks to be in top form as he has a quarterback rating of 111.7 for the NFL gambling preseason with 4 touchdown passes and just 1 interception with a 72% completion ratio.  Seneca Wallace, Seattle’s quarterback last year when Hasselbeck went down, has also had a solid NFL gambling preseason with a quarterback rating of 99.4.

The Seattle defense has looked solid as it ranks 6th in the preseason for points allowed while the offense ranks 8th in scoring.  The Oakland Raiders defense ranks 30th in points allowed and 32nd in yards allowed for the preseason.

Starting quarterback JaMarcus Russell has looked good with a 96.3 quarterback rating while veteran Jeff Garcia has not mounted the challenge that was expected as he has a QB rating of 71.3.
