NFL football gambling handicappers were impressed with the Steelers in their exhibition opener against the NFL lines while the Redskins looked terrible in week one. The Pittsburgh Steelers hosted the Arizona Cardinals in their NFL football gambling preseason opener which was a rematch of last February’s super bowl.
The game was not nearly as close as the Steelers prevailed 20-10 to cover the NFL lines as 3-point home chalks with the game sneaking under the NFL football gambling total of 33.5. Pittsburgh was actually outgained by the Cardinals 280-329 but they were +2 on the NFL football gambling turnover ratio chart.
Isaac Redman rushed for 2 touchdowns and third string quarterback Dennis Dixon was 10-19 for 112 yards. Shaun McDonald caught 6 passes for 69 yards. Keiwan Ratliff had 6 tackles for a most impressive NFL football gambling performance.
The Redskins suffered a shutout loss of 0-23 at Baltimore in their NFL football gambling preseason opener as they failed to come close to covering as 3-point road dogs. Washington was absolutely blown out as they were outgained 140-399 in a horrible NFL football gambling performance.
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Troy Smith lit up the Redskins for 200 yards passing and 1 touchdown. Washington starting quarterback Jason Campbell played sparingly. Backup Todd Collins was a respectable 8-11 for 70 yards while Colt Brennan was 4-12 for 43 yards in a rough start to the NFL football gambling preseason.
The Redskins were held to just 56 yards rushing on 19 attempts. Washington was -2 in turnover ratio. This matchup will feature a Washington team wanting to atone for that horrible performance as the Redskins will not want to alienate the home crowd in their exhibition home opener.
With a poor finish to last season that left a bad taste in everyone’s mouth the Redskins will not want to start a negative vibe with back to back poor games. A win against the defending world champions, even in preseason, would make everyone feel better about things.
