NFL Betting Odds - Buccaneers at Jaguars

NFL betting odds will include a Saturday all-Florida NFL gambling affair as the Jacksonville Jaguars host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

NFL betting odds saw both teams fail to win or cover their NFL gambling preseason openers last week and expectations remain low for them for the 2009 campaign.  The Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost at the Tennessee Titans last week 20-27 as they failed to cover the NFL betting odds as 4.5-point dogs.

The game soared over the NFL gambling total of 34.5.  The Bucs were slightly outgained by the Titans 256-278.  The deciding factor against the NFL betting odds was a 39 yard touchdown interception return by the Titans Ryan Mouton in the 4th quarter.  Overall Tampa Bay quarterbacks struggled against the NFL betting odds.

Byron Leftwich was 6-14 for 61 yards with 1 touchdown, Josh Freeman was 5-9 for 52 yards and 1 interception, Luke McCown was 4-8 for 19 yards and Josh Johnson was 3-5 for 15 yards.  Quarterback remains a significant cause for concern this year for the Bucs against the NFL betting odds.

The Jacksonville Jaguars lost at the Miami Dolphins 9-12 last Monday Night for a push against the NFL betting odds.  The Jags actually outgained the Dolphins 282-257 but were done in against the NFL betting odds by committing 11 penalties for 98 yards.

The also had less than stellar performances against the NFL betting odds from their quarterbacks.  Todd Bouman was 10-18 for 130 yards with 1 interception, Paul Smith was 7-12 for 68 yards with 1 interception, and David Garrard was 4-7 for 22 yards.  The Jags also struggled on the ground with just 66 yards on 21 rushing attempts.

Josh Scobee was an asset for Jacksonville as he was 3-3 on field goals.  The Jacksonville defense was effective against the Dolphins as they held Miami to 3.2 yards per carry and just 139 yards in the air while picking off 2 Dolphin passes.

Although this is Tampa Bay’s preseason home opener both teams will be hungry for a win as negativity is growing in both camps.  With both of these teams struggling on offense and both with solid defenses the under may merit consideration from handicappers.
