Football odds handicappers are impressed with the stunning turnaround of the Pack as they are now the hottest commodity on the NFL betting odds board.

The Green Bay Packers will take on the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field in the NFC Championship Game on Sunday with a kickoff time set for 3:05 PM ET and a telecast on FOX.  Sports Gambling opened with the Pack as a 3 point favorite and with a total of 43.5.

Green Bay has emerged as a road favorite against the number 2 seed with the NFL lines based on the combination of quarterback Aaron Rodgers and a defense that is now among the very best in the NFL.

The Pack caught everyone’s attention in the wild card round of the playoffs with a 21-16 win at Philadelphia as 1 point road dogs as the game went under the total of 46.5.

In last week’s 48-21 payout with the football betting lines at Atlanta, the Packers dominated on both sides of the line as Rodgers passed for an insane 31-36 for 366 yards and 3 touchdowns while the Packers defense held the vaunted Atlanta offense to a meager 45 yards rushing and reasonable 232 yards in the air.

Green Bay forced 2 turnovers and had 5 sacks.  The Pack was again a 1 point dog at Atlanta and the game soared over the total of 43.5.

Green Bay still has two big weaknesses that it must overcome in order to beat the conference championship odds.  The Packers running game is ineffective as Ryan Grant’s season ending injury in September has been a constant problem to overcome.

Nobody has stepped up as a legitimate replacement.  The other problem Green Bay has is special teams as their unit is among the worst in the NFL and allowed a touchdown kickoff return last week at Atlanta.  Kicker Mason Crosby is unproven in the clutch.

Under defensive coordinator Dom Capers the Packers ranked 5th overall in the NFL for total defense and 2nd overall for points allowed.  Their defense gives them a potentially large advantage with the football odds at Chicago against an erratic Bears unit and up and down QB Jay Cutler.
