Football gambling expectations were low for the Chiefs but their rebuilding program has paid big dividends with a fundamental approach that has brought NFL gambling success.

The Kansas City Chiefs will continue their drive to the playoffs on Sunday as they host the Tennessee Titans in an AFC matchup that will be telecast on CBS with a start time of 1 PM ET.  Sports-Gambling opened with Kansas City as a 5 point favorite and with a total of 41.5.

Kansas City has a record of 9-5 straight up and 8-6 with the football betting odds with 8 of their games going under the total.  The Chiefs have a 1 game lead over San Diego in the AFC West.  Kansas City is coming off a 27-13 win at St. Louis for their 4th win in 5 games and 3rd consecutive game that went under the total.

Quarterback Matt Cassel returned to the lineup at St. Louis after his appendectomy of 2 weeks prior and played well while gaining a lot of respect for his toughness.  Cassel has improved with a QB rating of 96.2 and has a stellar 24/5 TD/INT ratio.  Jamaal Charles has 1303 yards rushing and Dwayne Bowe has 941 yards receiving with 14 TD’s.  The Chiefs rank 11th for points allowed.

Tennessee has a record of 6-8 straight up and 7-7 with the pro football betting lines as 8 of their games have gone over the total.  Tennessee snapped a 6 game losing streak last week with a 31-17 home win over Houston as Kerry Collins passed for 237 yards and 2 touchdowns and Chris Johnson rushed for 130 yards with a TD.

Johnson has 1267 yards rushing and Collins has improved to an 81.5 QB rating.  The defense ranks 12th for points allowed.  Coach Jeff Fisher remains the subject of speculation as to his job status for 2011.

Tennessee has paid out in 4 of their last 6 football gambling matchups with Kansas City and the series has gone over the total in 4 of the last 5 meetings.  The Titans have covered 3 straight trips to Kansas City with 3 of the last 4 meetings between the teams at Arrowhead going over the total.
