Football gambling disappointment could not be bigger in regards to the poor play of the Minnesota Vikings as they may be the biggest NFL betting flop of the season so far.
The Minnesota Vikings will host the Green Bay Packers in a NFC North Division showdown on FOX with kickoff set for 1:05 PM Eastern Time. Sports-Gambling opened with the Packers as a 3 point favorite and with an over/under of 44. This matchup is truly the last chance for Minnesota to save their season.
The Minnesota Vikings have a record of 3-6 straight up and 2-7 with the NFL gambling odds with 5 of their 9 games going over the total. Minnesota is coming off a critical 27-13 NFC North loss at Chicago last week for their 3rd defeat in 4 games and is now in the position of having no more margin for error.
A divisional loss to Green Bay in this matchup would make it a virtual impossibility for the Vikings to make the playoffs. There is no way to sugar coat the poor season of Brett Favre as his quarterback rating is a lowly 72.2 with a 10/16 touchdown interception ratio.
Yet despite Favre’s erratic play the Vikings woes go far beyond the “Old Gunslinger” as Minnesota has slumped to 16th for points allowed on defense. Running back Adrian Peterson has been a bright spot with 908 yards rushing and 8 TD’s.
The Green Bay Packers are in a first place tie with the Chicago Bears in the NFC North as they have a record of 6-3 straight up and 5-4 with the NFL gambling lines as 6 of their games have gone under the total. Green Bay is coming off a bye that followed a 45-7 home payout over Dallas for their 3rd straight win.
Defensive coordinator Dom Capers has the top ranked unit for points allowed while the offense ranks 9th in the NFL for scoring. Aaron Rodgers has passed for 2300 yards and has been sharp during the winning streak.
