Football Gambling - Dallas at Minnesota

Football gambling handicappers and odds makers had Dallas and Minnesota pegged as NFL sports betting favorites to make the playoffs this year and contend for the Super Bowl.

Football gambling dynamics have changed dramatically, however, as both teams have fallen flat on their faces out of the gate and face NFL sports betting playoff elimination.

Minnesota will host Dallas in a true do or die NFC matchup on Sunday.  Kickoff for the FOX broadcast is at 4:10 PM Eastern and Sports-Gambling opened with Minnesota as a 1.5 point home favorite and with an over under of 43.5.

The loser of this game will face a near impossible hole to dig out of for qualifying in the playoffs.  This game is a rematch from last year’s NFC divisional playoffs which Minnesota won 34-3.

The Dallas Cowboys have a record of 1-3 both straight up and with the pro football betting lines.  Dallas is coming off a 34-27 home loss to the Tennessee Titans.  Dallas self destructed with 12 penalties including an excessive celebration call after a touchdown that set up a long kickoff return by the Titans that led to a touchdown.

Tony Romo was all over the place as quarterback as he passed for 406 yards with 3 touchdowns but 3 critical interceptions.  Dallas ranks 24th in rushing and their inability to run the ball has put heat on Romo.  Dallas ranks 8th in total defense but 21st in points allowed.

The Minnesota Vikings are also 1-3 both straight up and with the NFL gambling odds and have gone under the total 3 times.

The Vikings are coming off a horrible 29-20 loss at the New York Jets on Monday Night Football that was one of the worst ever performances for quarterback Brett Favre, who finished 14-34 for 264 yards with two lost fumbles and final interception that was run back for a Jets TD to snuff out a comeback bid.

Favre has a horrible 67.0 QB rating compared to 107 last year.  Running back Adrian Peterson has 480 yards rushing to lead the offense and randy Moss did catch a TD pass from Favre in his first game back as a Viking on Monday.

It is hard to say who has the edge in this one as both teams are struggling. Ultimately the Vikings 5th ranked defense and 9th ranked rushing attack led by Peterson could be the football gambling edge in this one.
