Football Gambling - Cardinals at Chiefs

Football gambling expectations continue to fall for the playoff prospects of the Cardinals as they are simply not the same NFL betting commodity without Kurt Warner.

Football gambling handicappers have seen the Kansas City Chiefs fall back down to earth after a surprising start as they are now at a NFL betting crossroads for the 2010 season.

The Kansas City Chiefs will host the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday with kickoff scheduled for 1:05 PM Eastern Time.  The Chiefs opened as 7.5 point favorites at Sports-Gambling with an over/under of 44.  The game will be telecast on FOX.

After a 5-2 start that included wins in their first 3 games the Kansas City Chiefs now have a record of 5-4 both straight up and with the NFL gambling odds as they lost their second consecutive game of the season last week at Denver 49-29.  The Chiefs have gone over the total in 5 of 9 games including 2 straight.

Kansas City is now in a first place tie with Oakland in the AFC West with defending division champion San Diego just 1 game behind.  The Chiefs 10th ranked offense is sparked by the top ranked rushing attack in the NFL as Jamaal Charles has 760 yards.

Quarterback Matt Cassel has shown improvement and has cut down on mistakes while passing for 1881 yards.  After a strong start the defense has faltered badly in the 2 losses and has slipped to 19th overall in the NFL.

The Arizona Cardinals have been playing this season in a virtual state of not having a quarterback as the retirement of Kurt Warner has decimated them and they may even regret not giving Matt Leinart a shot instead of hastily cutting him during preseason.

Arizona has a record of 3-6 both straight up and with the NFL gambling lines and has gone over the total in 7 of their 9 games.  The Cardinals have lost all 4 of their games since their bye week and are coming off a critical 36-18 home loss to NFC West rival Seattle while going over the total for the 3rd straight week.

Arizona ranks 31st in the NFL for offense while the defense has also slipped and ranks dead last in the NFL for points allowed.  Derek Anderson started again at QB last week and passed for 322 yards with 1 TD and 1 interception.

The home team has paid out 4 straight times in this head to head football gambling series.
