Football gambling respect continues to grow for the Baltimore Ravens after their big win at Pittsburgh in which they took the NFL gambling lead in the AFC North Division.
The Ravens will host the Broncos on Sunday with a CBS telecast set for 1:05 PM Eastern. Sports-Gambling opened with Baltimore as a 7 point home favorite and with an over/under of 38.5.
The Denver Broncos did a lot to quiet skepticism about their abilities and their status as a playoff contender, at least for one week, after their 26-20 win at Tennessee as 6 point dogs to improve their overall record to 2-2 both straight up and with the football odds. Denver has gone over the total in 3 out of 4 games so far this year.
Thanks to quarterback Kyle Orton the Broncos have the number one ranked passing attack in the NFL but their rushing attack is dead last. Denver ranks 11th in the NFL for scoring while the defense ranks in the middle of the pack for all meaningful categories. Orton has an impressive 96.3 QB rating so far.
The Baltimore Ravens have a record of 3-1 straight up and 2-2 with the NFL odds after their 17-14 win at Pittsburgh last week as 2 point dogs. Baltimore has gone under the total in 3 out of 4 games this year. The Ravens have struggled on offense and rank only 27th for scoring but have been saved by their 2nd ranked defense.
Quarterback Joe Flacco came up aces last week with a late touchdown pass to clinch the win over the Steelers. Flacco has a 70.5 QB rating with a 5/6 touchdown interception ratio but the heroics at Pittsburgh may serve as the spark to a turnaround for him.
Denver’s offense will face a stern test against Baltimore, who has proven to be the more consistent team.
Denver has gone over the football gambling total in 8 out of their last 9 games but the Ravens have gone under the total in 12 out of their last 16 games as a favorite. Denver has gotten the money in just 1 out of their last 8 meetings against the Ravens and the series has gone under the total in 6 out of the last 7 matchups including 4 straight.
