Football gambling fans are witnessing an embarrassing race in the NFC West as it is probable that the winner of the division will have a sub .500 NFL gambling record.

Football gambling fans will still have to figure out who will “win” the NFC “Worst” and a big key to that race will take place with a NFL gambling showdown from St. Louis.

The St. Louis Rams will host the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday with a start time of 1 PM ET and a telecast on FOX.  Sports-Gambling opened with St. Louis as a 2 point favorite and with a total of 39.5.  The 49ers enter this game just 1 game behind the Rams for first place in the “Worst.”

The Rams have a record of 6-8 straight up and 9-5 with the football betting odds as 9 of their games have gone under the total.  St. Louis has lost their last 2 games and is coming off a 27-13 home loss to Kansas City as they went under the total for the 3rd consecutive game.

Sam Bradford has slumped in recent weeks as the rookie still has much to learn about NFL defenses and has a 75.9 QB rating with a 17/14 TD/INT ratio.  Bradford is averaging just 5.9 yards per pass attempt as the Rams lack a breakaway threat at receiver.  Steven Jackson has 1148 yards rushing.

The defense has shown marked improvement over last year and ranks 15th for points allowed.  St. Louis is tied with Seattle for first place in the “Worst.”

San Francisco has a record of 5-9 both straight up and with the pro football betting lines and has gone under the total in just 6 games.  The 49ers are coming off a bad 34-7 loss at San Diego which exposed them as pretenders rather than bona fide contenders.

San Francisco has not jelled offensively as ranks 29th for points scored while the defense ranks 18th for points allowed.  Alex Smith has a weak 79.2 QB rating and Troy Smith flamed out after a brief hot streak as QB.

San Francisco has gotten the money in 9 of their last 12 football gambling matchups with St. Louis as 7 of the last 9 meetings between the teams have gone under the total.  The 49ers have been especially profitable at St. Louis with 5 payouts in their last 6 visits as 5 of the 6 games went under the total.
