Football betting news has continued to flow out of 49er camp as offensive coordinator Jimmy Raye was fired after last week’s football gambling loss at Kansas City.

San Francisco will travel to Atlanta for a game on Sunday against the resurgent Falcons.  Kickoff is at 1:05 PM Eastern and the Atlanta Falcons opened at Sports-Gambling as a 6.5 point favorite and with an over/under of 42.  The game will be telecast by FOX.

The 49ers are coming off an embarrassing 31-10 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in which they were incorrectly installed as 2.5 point road favorites as the game went over the total of 38.  San Francisco has a NFL betting record of 0-3 straight up and 1-2 against the spread with none of their games so far staying under the total.

Raye presided over an offense that is ranked 31st in the NFL for scoring.  Worse yet, Raye was clearly outcoached in all 3 games and couldn’t even handle the basics of transmitting play calls to the field.

The 49ers defense has not been much better as it ranks dead last in the NFL for points allowed.  Head coach Mike Singletary began the season as being touted as the savior of the franchise but is now firmly ensconced on the hot seat.

The Atlanta Falcons scored a statement making 27-24 overtime win over the New Orleans Saints as 3 point road dogs as the game went over 49.5.  Atlanta now has a NFL gambling record of 2-1 both straight up and against the spread.

The Falcons offense ranks 6th in the NFL and the ground attack led by Michael Turner’s 231 yards ranks 2nd best in pro football.  While the defense ranks 6th for points permitted it has surrendered a good chunk of passing yards to rank 22nd in the NFL against the pass.

Atlanta has covered 7 out of their last 10 games as a favorite as well as 7 out of their last 9 football betting matchups at the Georgia Dome.  The underdog has gotten the money in 9 out of their last 13 head to head meetings in this series.
