Football betting expectations are often low for the Indianapolis Colts but they seem to always find a way to get into the playoffs and are a dangerous football gambling commodity with Peyton Manning.

NBC will telecast the AFC wild card matchup of the New York Jets at Indianapolis Colts with a starting time Saturday night of 8 PM ET.  Sports Gambling opened with Indianapolis as a 3 point favorite and with a total of 44.5.

The Colts are the AFC South champions with a NFL betting record of 10-6 straight up and 8-7-1 against the spread with a total’s mark of 10-5-1 over the number this year. Manning finished with a 91.8 QB rating and a 33/17 TD/INT ratio with 4700 yards passing.  Manning came back strong after the worst 3 game stretch of his career since his rookie season as many were questioning whether he had lost it.

Reggie Wayne is his top receiver with 1355 yards and 6 TD’s.  The Colts defense ranked 23rd for points allowed and 25th against the rush, which is a NFL gambling concern in this matchup against the Jets as New York ranked 4th in rushing offense.

The Jets enter wild card weekend betting with a record of 11-5 straight up and 9-7 against the spread with 12 of their games going over the total.  Quarterback Mark Sanchez is the big concern regarding the Jets as he slipped badly down the stretch and finished with a 75.2 QB rating and had a mediocre 17/13 TD/INT ratio.

The running game features LaDainian Tomlinson who had 906 yards and a 4.1 yards per carry average with 6 TD’s.  Braylon Edwards was the top receiver with 904 yards and a 17.1 yards per catch average with 7 TD’s.  Defense is the football betting asset of the Jets as they ranked 3rd overall in the NFL.

The Jets have paid out in 10 of their last 14 away games and have gotten the money in 11 of their last 16 games as a dog.  The Colts have paid out in just 2 of their last 7 games as a favorite but have paid out in 18 of their last 25 games versus teams with a winning record.
