Football Odds Say Bowl Game Could Be 'Bruin' at UCLA!

Football odds treated the UCLA Bruins well last year as they showed a football betting profit with a 7-5 mark against the spread despite a 4-8 straight up record.

Football odds made UCLA such a strong value as a football betting dog due to their being in a transition year with new head coach Rick Neuheisel who has this team back on track.  UCLA’s improvement last year against the football odds was due in large measure to them having a sense of direction as well as the fact that they would play hard for the entire game, which made them a live football betting dog.

This year, the football odds favor UCLA getting back into post season status.  There are plenty of reasons for UCLA’s optimism against the football odds starting with an experienced roster that features 9 returning starters to offense and 7 on defense.

This experienced lineup, which is now used to Neuheisel and his style and system, will give UCLA an advantage against the football odds.  Quarterback does remain a point of concern for UCLA against the football odds however as Neuheisel named red shirt freshman Kevin Prince the starter for fall camp.

He will compete with last year’s starter Kevin Craft and Nick Crissman for the job.  Norm Chow is the veteran offensive coordinator and is universally acclaimed as one of the best in the land at what he does.  Chow will give excellent tutelage to whoever takes over as the final full time starter against the football odds.

UCLA was highly turnover prone last year and finished with a -10 ratio against the football odds.  It is rare that a team has back-to-back years of such a poor ratio and that positions UCLA for potentially better luck in 2009.

The non-conference schedule could easily put the Bruins in a 3-0 position as the toughest game is at Tennessee, who is with a new coach and a team that the Bruins beat last year in Neuheisel’s debut.  If UCLA plays better in the Pac-10 a bowl will be theirs!
