Football odds opened with Baltimore as a 3-point favorite with a NFL betting total of 31 as a low scoring game is expected in this one. The Washington Redskins enter preseason action against the football odds as something of a NFL betting enigma.
Last year the Redskins started off strong against the football odds under first year coach Jim Zorn, who was being touted for coach of the year honors. But by season’s end the Redskins had come up empty as fans called for Zorn’s head.

Third string quarterback Colt Brennan, a 2 year pro out of Hawaii where he set numerous records, will bring an exciting element against the preseason football odds as he will also get a good share of snaps. Interestingly enough the Redskins took defensive players with their first four picks in the 2009 draft.
Number one draft pick Brian Orakpo, a defensive end out of Texas, will catch a lot of preseason attention against the football odds.
The Baltimore Ravens were one of the surprise teams in all of football last year as they rode a powerful defense all the way to the AFC title game where they finally were eliminated by the eventual super bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers.
Rookie quarterback Joe Flacco had a solid season and is the starter again for 2009. Expect backups Troy Smith and John Beck to get the majority of exhibition snaps.
