Football Gambling - Green Bay vs Cleveland

Football gambling on the Packers has been up and down this year but they are coming off an impressive bounce back win over the NFL betting lines.

Football gambling fans saw the Pack shutout Detroit 26-0 last week as 14-point home favorites with the NFL betting lines to improve their record to 3-2 both straight up and against the spread. The win put the Pack back into football gambling contention for the post season although it is looking more like Green Bay will have to contend for a wild card spot as their old quarterback, Brett Favre, and the Minnesota Vikings are 6-0 to lead the NFC North Division.

The Cleveland Browns are 1-5 straight up and 3-3 with the NFL betting lines.  Last week the Browns got the money in a 14-27 loss at Pittsburgh as 14-point football gambling road dogs.  Offense continues to be the football gambling weakness of the Browns as they rank 30th in the league for scoring.

Quarterbacking has been atrocious so far as current starter Derek Anderson has a QB rating of 41.7 with a 44.4 completion percentage and a 2/6 touchdown to interception ratio.  Anderson has done the impossible in that he makes backup QB Brady Quinn look like an attractive alternative.

The Packers have far better football gambling numbers as they rank 8th in scoring and 9th in points allowed.  Quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been solid this year with a QB rating of 104.1 and a completion rate of 65% Rodgers has 8 touchdown passes with just 2 interceptions.

In their football gambling rout over Detroit wide receiver Donald Driver set a Green Bay record with his 596th career catch as he passed Sterling Sharpe.  The offensive line continues to be a football gambling concern for the Pack as it allowed 5 sacks against a suspect Lions defense.

The poor line play was exacerbated by an ankle injury to left tackle Chad Clifton and the Packers left a lot of football gambling points on the field in the red zone because of the weak line play.

“When you’re playing a team that maybe has a little more experienced offense, we’re going to have to cash in those opportunities for seven, not three”, said Rodgers.  “Because those are big momentum swings in a game”.

Green Bay is 1-6 straight up in its last 7 on the road while Cleveland has gone 3-7 against the spread in their last 10 at home.
