Football betting this preseason may be different, however, as the Redskins will want to establish a positive tone against the football odds after a poor finish to last season. Head coach Jim Zorn returns for a second football betting season in command of the Redskins and was being touted as the coach of the year in the first month of play in 2008 as his team got off to a great start against the football odds.
But by the end of the 2008 football betting campaign Zorn was firmly ensconced on the hot seat as his team limped home to finish in last place in the NFC east. The Redskins will have to address their ineffective offense during the football betting preseason.
Jason Campbell, a 5 year pro out of Auburn, is the starting quarterback and will see limited exhibition action. Todd Collins, a 15 year pro out of Michigan, is Campbell’s backup and should see a decent amount of football betting action this preseason.
Collins has been a backup through all but 1 season in his career and came to the Redskins in 2007 after spending 5 football betting campaigns with the Kansas City Chiefs. He began his career with the Buffalo Bills. And has a career quarterback rating of 76 with 22 touchdown passes and 19 interceptions.
Colt Brennan, a 2 year pro out of Hawaii, will also see plenty of football betting action this preseason. Brennan re-wrote the record book at Hawaii as they went to a BCS bowl his final season but he is yet to see action in a regular season game.
The Redskins loaded up on defense in the draft with number one draft pick Brian Orakpo, a defensive end out of Texas, figuring to see plenty of preseason football betting action. Kevin Barnes, a 3rd round pick out of Maryland, will also see plenty of action at cornerback.
