Football betting expectations are high in Miami after their impressive AFC east title run last NFL gambling season while the Jags are a big question mark. Tony Sparano led the Dolphins to a football betting worst to first season in 2008. Miami made the playoffs based on Sparano coaching them as a fundamentally sound NFL gambling commodity that limited mistakes.
Miami quarterback Chad Pennington resurrected his football betting career last year as he was traded from the New York Jets to the Dolphins where he ended up with a strong 97.4 quarterback rating and a 19/7 touchdown/interception ratio. Pennington will see limited action in the early stages of the football betting preseason.
Chad Henne, a 2 year pro out of Michigan, will back up Pennington and see plenty of preseason football betting action. Also expected to take plenty of exhibition snaps is rookie Pat White, a 2nd round draft pick this year out of West Virginia.
The Jacksonville Jaguars enter the football betting preseason with their head coach under intense fire and facing a win or else season. Jack Del Rio enters his 7th football betting campaign as the Jags head coach and after good initial success he has struggled.
Jacksonville totally imploded in the 2008 football betting season and Del Rio barely held on to his job. This past off season has seen the Jags get a strong makeover on the roster and coaching staff but it remains to be seen whether that will be enough to get this team back on track for the post season.
David Garrard is the Jags starting quarterback and he will be backed up by Todd Bouman and Paul Smith. The Jags were still trying to sign number one draft pick Eugene Monroe, a tackle out of Virginia.
Del Rio will want to use the preseason as much for mental preparation as for physical work. The Jaguars need a strong shot of optimism and confidence for the season ahead.
