Football Betting - Buccaneers at Titans

Football betting Saturday will include the NFL gambling debut of Tampa Bay head coach Raheem Morris as he leads his Bucs against the Titans at Tennessee.

Football betting fans saw Tennessee defeat the Buffalo Bills 21-18 in the Hall of Fame Game last week to kickoff the NFL gambling season.  Tennessee had the game won and covered but took a deliberate safety out of punt formation on the final play of the game to force the game into a football betting push.

Morris was on Tampa Bay’s coaching staff since the 2002 NFL gambling campaign and was defensive backfield coach for the past two seasons.  He took over as head coach this past off season after the Bucs fired Jon Gruden.

Gruden won a super bowl in his first football betting season at Tampa and had a winning record there but the Bucs end of season collapse and inconsistent offense did him in at the end.  Tampa blew a near certain playoff spot last year and Gruden’s act had worn thin with fans and management.

That being said, there is a lot of football betting skepticism about Morris, who is not exactly an upgrade from Gruden.  Also missing from the Bucs this year is quarterback Jeff Garcia, who departed for the Oakland Raiders.  Byron Leftwich enters the football betting preseason as the starting quarterback.

Leftwich was a first round draft pick in 2003 for the Jacksonville Jaguars but has been a football betting journeyman as of late having spent 2007 with the Atlanta Falcons and 2008 with the Pittsburgh Steelers.  Leftwich has a career football betting quarterback rating of 80.3 with 54 touchdown passes and 38 interceptions.

Tampa Bay’s 2009 number one draft pick, Josh Freeman out of Kansas State, is currently number two on the football betting quarterback depth chart.  It is expected that Freeman will get plenty of preseason snaps.  Also competing for more playing time over center will be Luke McCown, a 6 year pro out of Louisiana Tech.

McCown has been a backup with the Bucs for the past two seasons and has a career quarterback rating of 75.2 with 9 touchdown passes and 10 interceptions.  All in all the Bucs enter preseason with plenty of questions, work to do, and skeptical handicappers.
