The Associated Press poll has long been seen as the ultimate authority in terms of listing information on whom the best teams in college football are. The first such poll for the 2015 season was released and it should not come as any surprise that the Ohio State Buckeyes are the favorites in this prominent poll.
In particular, the Buckeyes received all 61 first-place votes in the AP poll. This gives the Buckeyes the maximum 1,525 points that a team could possibly get in the poll. The Buckeyes are already +260 favorites to win the national title this year.
TCU, which has a +650 line, has the number two ranking in the AP poll. The Horned Frogs have 1,428 points in the poll.
Alabama is in third place with 1,322 points. The Crimson Tide also has a +650 college football betting line to win it all this year.
The SEC is the most prominent team in the AP poll. There are seven teams in the SEC who are listed in the top 25 rankings to start the season. In addition to Alabama, Auburn is high up on the list with a sixth place spot. The Tigers have a +900 line from NCAA football betting oddsmakers to win this year.
Baylor, a Big 12 rival to TCU, has a +2000 line for the national title and is fourth in the AP poll. Michigan State has the fifth spot in this year’s AP poll, thus making the Spartans the best team in the Big Ten outside Ohio State. The Spartans have a +2000 line to win it all this year.
Notre Dame has a strong showing at eleventh in the AP toll. The Fighting Irish have a +2000 line to win the national title this year.
Only one other team from outside the big five conferences is in the AP poll to start the season Boise State is has the 23 spot with a 240 points in the poll. The Broncos have a +15000 line to win the national championship.
