Stanford Slight Road Favorites Over Notre Dame

The Stanford Cardinal and Notre Dame Fighting Irish have taken on each other every year since 1997 in a rivalry that dates back to 1925. The Irish have an 18-10 lead in the series but the Cardinal has won four of the last five games after snapping a seven-game streak for the Irish earlier in the 2000s. The teams will be competing with one another at Notre Dame Stadium. This game is expected to be a little closer than what last year's game was like as the two teams are very close to one another in the national rankings.

The under has been taken in the last four meetings between these teams. The under has also gone in six of the last seven games in South Bend. The road team has beaten the spread in four of the last five games in this series.

Notre Dame has won their last five games. Their last game was a 31-15 win against Syracuse when they had a -9.5 advantage. The Irish has taken the under in their last three games and in eight of their last team games overall.

The Cardinal is 2-2 against the spread so far this year. Their last game was barely an ATS loss as they were favored by -7.5 against Washington and only won by a score of 20-13. Stanford has taken the under in seven of their last nine games to have such an over/under bet. The Cardinal has taken the under in ten of their last eleven overall games against teams with winning records.

Last year the Cardinal were a -16.5 favorite to win the game. This year the Cardinal are only favored by -2. The over/under is at 44.5 points while a straight up bet for the Cardinal will pay out -130. The Irish are slight underdogs and have a +110 line for a straight up victory in their name. As always, the winner of this game will take home the famed Legends Trophy.
