The Oklahoma Sooners are close to getting to the very top of the college football polls. The Sooners are heavily favored to win their matchup at the Gaylord Family Memorial Stadium in Norman against the Tennessee Volunteers.
The Sooners and Volunteers have not met each other in any recent time. Both teams are undefeated for the season so far. The Sooners are #4 on the Associated Press poll with two first-place votes. The Volunteers are not ranked but they do have fourteen points in the poll.
Oklahoma last defeated Tulsa 52-7 on September 6. The Sooners went over the -24 line and the 57 point total for the game. However, they did not cover the -34 spread in their first game with Louisiana Tech as the Sooners won 48-16 on August 30.
During their current six-game winning streak, the Sooners have gone 5-1 ATS. They also went over the point total in all but one of those games. They had a 57 point total in a December game with Oklahoma State and got a push through a 33-24 win. Oklahoma has gone over the point total in their last six games where they have gotten 450 or more total yards in their prior game.
The Tennessee Volunteers played Arkansas State in their last game on September 6. The Vols won 34-19 but did not go past the -16 line or the 58.5 point total. The Sooners did get their -3.5 total in a 38-7 win over Utah State to start the season.
The Vols have lost against the spread in five of their last seven games. They have also gone under the point total in their last four games. The over has gone 7-1 in the last few games where the Volunteers have won a game straight up.
The Oklahoma Sooners are -20.5 favorites in this game. A -110 payout will be used for this spread bet. The over/under is listed at 56.5 points for the game. Many betting sites have removed the straight up moneyline bets for the game but some have the Volunteers at +740 to win straight up.
