A great deal of attention has been paid on Ohio State and whether or not Cardale Jones, Braxton Miller or J.T. Barrett is the answer at the quarterback position. One thing is for certain though that the Buckeyes are 1-2 favorites to win the Big Ten.
Even with the quarterback debate, Running back Ezekiel Elliott is expected to be a huge Heisman contender. Michael Thomas should be a big competitor on the receiving end of the ball.
Can Anyone Stop the Bucks?
Michigan State has 13-4 NCAA football betting odds to win the Big Ten title. The Spartans have one of the best offensive lines in the Big Ten and Connor Cook should be a possible Heisman contender. However, the defense will have a new coordinator as Pat Narduzzi has left to become the new head coach at Pittsburgh.
Penn State Makes a Run Again
With just about all the NCAA restrictions removed from the team, Penn State will make a spirited run for the Big Ten title. However, the Nittany Lions are listed at 15-1 odds among college football gambling experts to win. Quarterback Christian Hackenberg could be a surprise Heisman candidate this year provided that the offensive line improved this year. Last year's line gave up more than forty sacks.
Michigan Starts Anew
The Michigan Wolverines are listed by sports gambling sites at 12-1 to win the Big Ten title. The Wolverines are expected to be a big team with Jim Harbaugh being the team's newest coach. While the Wolverines are clearly hoping to become the next big competitor in the Big Ten and ave gone on the recruiting trail for much of the offseason, much of the team's efforts may be dedicated to finally snapping the school's losing streak against Ohio State.
What Other Teams Are There?
Wisconsin has 8-1 odds as Paul Chryst comes over as the team's new coach. Still, the loss of running back Melvin Gordon will be a big hurdle for the Badgers.
Nebraska, who also has a new coach, has a 12-1 line. Mike Riley will run the team as quarterback Tommy Armstrong will be hoping to be a little more efficient in the coming season.
