ACC Betting Odds Come With a Real Surprise

In the past few years, Florida State has been the dominant team in the ACC in terms of football. However, as the NCAA football betting world suggests, there will be one rather interesting development in this conference. The Seminoles will actually have a bit of competition this year. This is different from what people have expected to some other conferences like the Big Ten where there's one clear cut favorite

A Narrow Lead

The Seminoles are listed as 5-2 favorites to win the ACC title. Running back Dalvin Cook is expected to be a major player in the team's offense.

In second, the Clemson Tigers have 3-1 odds to win it all. The team has one of the top running backs in the game with Artavis Scott but the defense will have to be revamped after former coordinator Chad Morris left to become the new coach at SMU.

Georgia Tech is also going to give the Noles a run for their money. The Yellow Jackets have 4-1 odds to win the ACC title. Quarterback Justin Thomas is expected to have a breakout year. The Jackets should especially have a shot at the Coastal Division title as the rest of the division is not expected to be too competitive. The fact that the Jackets host Florida State this year may be to their advantage.

Who Else Is Running?

The ACC also has a few different competitors that might make a run although they are in the middle of the betting line. Louisville has 8-1 betting odds as there is a great sense of uncertainty with regards to who the team's quarterback will be.

Miami is highlighted at 12-1. Brad Kaaya has a strong season as a true freshman quarterback last year and is expected to improve. Meanwhile, North Carolina State is at 12-1 with quarterback Jacoby Brissett should be a big threat in the season.

Wake Forest has the worst odds at 100-1. Dave Clawson will be the team's new coach this year after coming from Bowling Green.
