NCAA odds value and expectations have collapsed for the UCLA Bruins as they have fallen far short of preseason expectations with the NCAA football odds.
The UCLA Bruins will host the USC Trojans Saturday night in the season finale for both teams. The game will be telecast on Fox Sports Net with a kickoff time of 10:35 PM ET. Sports-Gambling opened with USC as a 7 point favorite.
The USC Trojans have a record of 7-5 straight up and 5-7 with the NCAA football lines as 7 of their games have gone under the total. USC is banned from appearing in a bowl game this year due to the Reggie Bush scandal that came to head last spring.
USC is coming off a 20-16 home loss to Notre Dame as they went under the total for the 3rd consecutive game. Defense has been a surprising problem for the Trojans all season as they rank 86th overall in the country while the offense has been inconsistent and ranks 40th for points scored.
Mitch Mustain has taken over for the injured Matt Barkley at quarterback and has not been come close to matching the starter’s production. Marc Tyler has 868 yards rushing and a 5.3 yards per carry average with 9 TD’s. USC has not found a big play game breaking receiver to open up the attack.
UCLA has a record of 4-7 straight up and 3-8 with the NCAA football betting lines as 6 of their games have gone over the total. The Bruins have suffered an epic collapse that may cost coach Rick Neuheisel his job as they have lost 5 of their last 6 games including a horrible 55-34 setback last week against a sub .500 Arizona State team.
The UCLA offense, the supposed area of Neuheisel’s expertise, ranks 103rd for scoring while the defense ranks 93rd overall. In 3 years on the job, Neuheisel has not improved the program and a loss here might be the final straw.
The home team has beaten the NCAA odds in 6 of the last 7 meetings in this head to head series with the two teams going under the total in their last 4 matchups.
