NCAA odds will have high stakes for the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs on Saturday as they need a win with the NCAA football odds to become bowl eligible.

The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs will host the Nevada Wolf Pack on Saturday with kickoff set for 3 PM ET.  Sports-Gambling opened with Nevada as a 12.5 point favorite.

The #17 Nevada Wolf Pack have a record of 11-1 straight up and 6-6 with the NCAA football lines.  Nevada has an even 6-6 mark on totals this year.  The Wolf Pack are coming off the biggest win in program history as they beat Boise State in overtime 34-31.

The win was not a fluke as Nevada rallied from a 24-7 deficit and held a slight advantage in total yards and first downs over the then #4 ranked Broncos.

Nevada’s pistol offense ranks 3rd in the nation and is led by Colin Kaepernick, who has become a second tier Heisman Trophy candidate with a 65% completion rate and 2671 yards passing with a 20/7 touchdown/interception ratio.  Kaepernick is 2nd on the team in rushing with 1026 yards and is averaging 7 yards per carry with 17 TD’s.

Vai Taua leads the Pack in rushing with 1372 yards and a 5.9 yards per carry average with 17 TD’s.  Rishard Matthews is a valuable receiver with a team high 47 receptions good for 16.6 yards per catch.

Nevada’s defense ranks 39th in the country for points allowed.  The Wolf Pack must win to assure themselves a share of the Western Athletic Conference title.

Louisiana Tech has a record of 5-6 both straight up and with the NCAA football betting lines.  The Bulldogs have gone under the total in just 3 of their 11 games.  The offense has been respectable and ranks 47th although first year coach Sonny Dykes was unable to jump start the passing attack as hoped.

The defense ranks a dismal 114th nationally.  Lennon Creer is the main offensive weapon with 1132 yards and a 4.8 yards per carry average with 10 TD’s.

The big question for this matchup with the NCAA odds is Nevada’s ability to regain focus and not letdown after their huge win last week.
