NCAA football gambling expectations remain high for West Virginia to win the league as they are the favorite with the NCAA betting lines to capture the “Little Least” title.

The Connecticut Huskies will host the West Virginia Mountaineers Friday night in Big East Conference action.  Kickoff on ESPN2 is set for 8:05 PM Eastern.  Sports-Gambling opened with West Virginia as a 7 point favorite.

West Virginia has a NCAA football betting record of 5-2 straight up and 4-3 against the spread.  The Mounties are coming off a bad 19-14 upset home loss to Syracuse.  West Virginia’s defense is carrying the team as it ranks 4th in the country while the offense is regressing and has been sloppy as it now ranks 70th overall.

Quarterback Geno Smith and running back Noel Devine are talented but the unit has lacked polish and consistency.

It has been a very disappointing year for the Connecticut Huskies as they have a record of 3-4 both straight up and with the NCAA football odds.  Last week the entire program seemed to implode as starting quarterback Cody Endres was suspended for the remainder of the season and the Huskies were shutout at Louisville 26-0.

UConn ranks a dismal 77th in total offense and 102nd for passing.  The defense ranks only 55th in the country.  Coach Randy Edsall could be feeling the heat very soon as his team was picked as a leading contender to win the Big East but has lost both of their conference games this far.

With their struggles at quarterback and going up against the strong WVU defense this is a bad spot for the Huskies.

West Virginia has a NCAA football gambling record of 3-7 against the spread when coming off a failure to cover in their previous game.  UConn is a dangerous 21-8 against the spread when coming off a straight up loss and is an impressive 24-9 against the spread at home.

UConn has gone over the total in 8 of their last 9 games following a straight up loss and in 7 of their last 8 Big East Conference games.

West Virginia has paid out in 5 of their last 6 against the Huskies with the series going over the total in 4 of the last 5 matchups.
