NCAA football gambling expectations are sky high for the Badgers as they prepare for their NCAA football wagering finale on Saturday against an injury depleted Northwestern team.

The #7 Wisconsin Badgers will host the Northwestern Wildcats on Saturday with a telecast on ABC set to begin at 2:30 pm ET.  Sports-Gambling opened with Wisconsin as a 23.5 point favorite.

The Northwestern Wildcats have a college football betting record of 7-4 straight up and 3-8 against the spread with 7 of their games going over the total.

Northwestern is coming off a 48-27 loss to Illinois last week as they felt the full effect of quarterback Dan Persa’s season ending Achilles injury that was sustained on a game winning touchdown pass against Iowa the week before.  Northwestern ranks 51st for scoring defense as they employ a bend but don’t break approach.

The offense ranks 76th in the country for scoring.  Evan Watkins struggled in place of Persa last week as he was 10-20 for 135 yards with an interception.

Wisconsin has a college football gambling record of 10-1 straight up and 6-5 against the spread with just 3 of their games going under the total.  The Badgers have gotten the money in their last 5 games and are coming off a 48-28 payout at Michigan last week.  Wisconsin ranks 7th in the country for scoring offense and 12th in rushing.

The defense ranks 28th for points allowed.  John Clay has 929 yards on the ground with 13 touchdowns while James White has 895 yards and 13 TD’s as well.  Montee Ball has emerged as a solid third back with 686 yards and 13 TD’s.  Scott Tolzien is a highly efficient quarterback with a 74% completion rate and 12/6 TD/INT ratio.

Clay has had knee problems but is probable for this one.  Wisconsin coach Bret Bielema is not shy about “style points” as he realizes hanging a big number on a Big Ten opponent catches the attention of poll voters.

Northwestern has paid out in just 1 of their last 7 Big Ten games but is 13-6 against the spread after a straight up loss.  The host has paid out in the last 5 NCAA football gambling matchups in this series which has gone over the total in 6 of the last 8 meetings.
