NCAA football gambling expectations were also not met by the Utah Utes as their blowout home loss to TCU with the NCAA odds cost them significantly as well.

Las Vegas Nevada will host the MAACO Las Vegas Bowl on Wednesday, December 22 with an ESPN telecast set for 8 PM ET as the #19 Utah Utes will take on the #11 Boise State Broncos at Sam Boyd Stadium.  Sports Gambling opened with MAACO Las Vegas Bowl odds of Boise State as a 16.5 point favorite.

Despite both teams having to settle for a bowl that is less than what they dreamed of the close proximity of their states to an attractive city like Las Vegas should ensure a full house and both clubs still are among the best in the nation which makes for a potentially outstanding bowl matchup.

Utah has a record of m10-2 straight up and 7-4-1 with the college football odds as the Utes finished 2nd in their final season as members of the Mountain West Conference as they move to the Pac 10 next year.  Utah went over the total 7 times this season.

The Utes are coming off a big 17-16 home win over BYU as they blocked a kick at the gun to save victory.  Utah has a solid defense that ranks 23rd overall in the country and that is a definite must for any chance of success against the explosive Broncos.

The offense ranked 18th for scoring thanks in large part to the passing of Jordan Wynn, who threw for 2334 yards. The problem is that Wynn is doubtful for this game with a shoulder injury and the ground game was mediocre and ranked 60th in the country.

Boise State has a NCAA football wagering record of 11-1 straight up and 8-4 against the spread with just 5 of their games going over the total.  The Broncos finished tied with Hawaii and Nevada for the Western Athletic Conference crown as they had to the Mountain West Conference next year.

Heisman Finalist Kellen Moore had another phenomenal season with 3506 yards and Doug Martin proved to be a key NCAA football gambling asset with 1113 yards rushing while Titus Young had 1151 yards receiving.  The defense ranked 4th in the nation.
