NCAA betting odds expectations are over the top for the Auburn Tigers as they are in control of their own destiny with the NCAA betting lines for a BCS title shot.
Auburn will host Georgia on Saturday with a telecast on CBS set to begin at 3:30 PM ET. Sports-Gambling opened with Auburn as an 8.5 point favorite.
Georgia has a college football betting record of 5-5 both straight up and against the spread with 7 of their games going over the total. Georgia is coming off a 55-7home payout over Idaho State. The Bulldogs are 3-4 in Southeastern Conference play and have suffered a dreadful road loss to a bad Colorado team earlier this year.
Their last SEC game was an overtime loss to Florida. The Bulldogs have proven to have ability as they rank 25th in the nation for scoring and 23rd for points allowed. Aaron Murray has 2307 yards passing with a 9.0 yards per attempt average and an 18/6 touchdown/interception ratio.
#2 Auburn has a college football gambling record of 10-0 straight up and 6-4 against the spread with 6 of their games going over the total. Auburn is alone atop the SEC West Division with a 6-0 conference mark. The Tigers clobbered 1-AA Chattanooga 62-24 last week.
This will be their final home game before a two week break to prepare for the November 26 Iron Bowl at Alabama. Auburn ranks 6th in the nation for scoring offense but 55th for scoring defense. Heisman Trophy candidate Cam Newton has passed for 1890 yards with a 19/5 TD/INT ratio and has rushed for 1146 yards.
A dark cloud now hangs over the program and Newton amid stories of a potential payoff from a third party to get him to enroll at Auburn with Newton’s father perhaps being implicated due to his church previously facing demolition due to not being up to code, a problem that was later solved.
The story should continue to build and could become a major distraction.
The home team has covered the NCAA betting odds in 5 of the last 7 meetings in this series, which has gone under the total in just 1 of the last 5 matchups.
