College football gambling handicappers are quite put off with a Kentucky Wildcats team that has lost back to back SEC college football betting road games.
Sports-Gambling opened with Auburn as a 7 point favorite. Kickoff is set for 7:35 PM Eastern Time and the game will be telecast by ESPN2.
The 8th ranked Auburn Tigers have a record of 5-0 straight up and 3-2 with the NCAA football odds. Auburn had a virtual week off in last Saturday’s 52-3 slaughter of Louisiana Monroe as 35 point home favorites. Auburn is ranked 11th in the nation for offense and 45th in the country for defense.
Cam Newton has been sensational at quarterback with a 66% completion rate, a 10.7 yards per attempt average, and a 12/4 touchdown/interception ratio. Newton leads Auburn in rushing with 474 yards and a 6.2 yards per carry average with 5 touchdowns.
Running back Onterio McCalebb should not be forgotten as he has an 8.0 yards per carry average. Darvin Adams is a dangerous receiver with a 17.8 yards per catch average and 2 TD’s.
After winning and covering their first 3 games of the season against non conference cupcakes, the Kentucky Wildcats are coming off SEC losses at Florida and then last week at Ole Miss 42-35 as 2.5 point dogs.
Kentucky outgained the Rebels 424-301 but self destructed with 3 turnovers and 7 penalties along with up and down play from quarterback Mike Hartline, who was 27-46 for 300 yards with a 2/1 TD/INT ratio. Kentucky ranks 25th in the nation for offense and 29th for defense but their sloppy start to SEC play has turned off handicappers and fans.
As attractive as Auburn might be in this matchup keep in mind they struggled at Mississippi State in their SEC road opener in a 17-14 win. While there is a revenge setup there is also a hungry Kentucky team coming home to stop the bleeding and attempting to get back into improved bowl contention status.
Auburn must be ready and not take the Cats lightly or they could be in trouble with the NCAA football lines.
Kentucky scored a 21-14 college football gambling upset at Auburn last year as 13.5 point dogs as the game stayed under the total of 57.
