College football gambling handicappers have long believed that the Arizona Wildcats were one of the teams that could spring a big NCAA football gambling upset over Oregon.
The #1 Oregon Ducks will host the #21 Arizona Wildcats on Friday with an ESPN telecast set to begin at 7 PM ET. Sports-Gambling opened with Oregon as a 17.5 point favorite.
Arizona has a record of 7-3 straight up and 5-5 with the college football odds as 6 of their games have gone over the total. Arizona has lost their last two games however as the lost at Stanford 42-17 and followed that up with a 24-21 home loss to USC. The Wildcats are coming off a bye.
Arizona is ranked 19th for total offense and 12th for scoring defense and that defense is what has many gamblers thinking that they can hang within the number against Oregon. Nick Foles quarterbacks the 10th ranked passing attack in the country and has a 71% completion rate with 2201 yards and a 13/6 touchdown/interception ratio.
Arizona also has a strong ground attack as Keola Antolin, Nicholas Grigsby, and Greg Nwoko each average over 5 yards per carry.
The Oregon Ducks are also coming off a bye as they last beat Cal 15-13 while never coming close to covering the college football lines as 18.5 point road favorites. Oregon now stands at 10-0 straight up and 6-3-1 against the spread with 7 of their games going over the total.
The Ducks are the top scoring team in the country and rank 11th in scoring defense. LaMichael James is almost a lock to end up at the Heisman Trophy Award ceremony as he has 1442 yards rushing with a 6.4 yards per carry average with 17 TD’s. Darron Thomas has been solid at quarterback with 2207 yards and a 23/6 TD/INT ratio.
Arizona has paid out in 7 of their last 10 games that follow a bye week but Oregon is 9-2 against the spread after a bye themselves. The home team has paid out in 5 of the last 6 college football gambling matchups in this series but the dog has paid out in 4 of the last 5 between the teams.
