College football betting expectations are dropping at a rapid rate for the Kentucky Wildcats after their 3rd straight college football gambling loss last week.
Kentucky will host South Carolina on Saturday with an ESPN2 telecast set to start at 6 PM Eastern Time. Sports-Gambling opened with South Carolina as a 6 point road favorite.
The South Carolina Gamecocks have a record of 4-1 both straight up and with the NCAA football betting lines. USC has gone over the total in 4 out of 5 games. Last week South Carolina scored a 35-21 win over top ranked Alabama as 6.5 point home dogs. The win was no accident as the Gamecocks outplayed the Crimson Tide.
Stephen Garcia had his best game as a quarterback with 201 yards passing and 3 touchdowns while freshman Marcus Lattimore ran for 93 yards and 2 TD’s. Garcia has shown marked improvement this year with a 72% completion rate and a 9.3 yards per attempt average with an 8/3 touchdown/interception ratio.
Lattimore has 459 yards rushing and head coach Steve Spurrier has compared him to Emmitt Smith.
The Kentucky Wildcats have a NCAA football betting record of 3-3 straight up and 4-2 against the spread. The Wildcats have gone over the total in 5 out of 6 games this year.
After feasting on cream puffs in their first 3 non conference games the Wildcats have lost 3 consecutive Southeastern Conference games including last week at home to Auburn 37-34. Kentucky’s offense ranks a respectable 21st for scoring but the defense has been near hopeless and ranks 91st for points permitted.
Quarterback Mike Hartline leads the attack with a 66% completion rate and a 9/3 TD/INT ratio. Running back Derrick Locke has 574 yards and 7 touchdowns.
South Carolina figures to matchup will with Kentucky as Lattimore should rack up plenty of yards against the 97th ranked UK rush defense. The big concern is of course the letdown factor after such a big win over Alabama.
