College Football Betting - Ole Miss at LSU

College football betting handicappers have not been impressed with the sloppy play and inconsistent college football gambling results of the Ole Miss Rebels in 2010.

College football betting respect is growing for the LSU Tigers and their once embattled head coach Les Miles as they are a legitimate college football gambling BCS title contender.

The #5 LSU Tigers will host the Ole Miss Rebels with a telecast on CBS set for 3:30 PM Eastern Time.  Sports-Gambling opened with LSU as a 16 point favorite.

The Ole Miss Rebels have a record of 4-6 straight up and 3-7 with the NCAA betting odds as 7 of their games have gone over the total.  Ole Miss is coming off a 52-14 blowout loss at Tennessee last week and has lost 4 of their last 5 games both straight up and against the spread.

The Rebels rank 14th in the nation for rushing but will be severely tested by the tough LSU defense.  Brandon Bolden has 840 yards rushing with a 6.3 yards per carry average and 11 touchdowns.  Controversial quarterback Jeremiah Masoli has been erratic with a 12/10 touchdown/interception ratio but is second on the team in rushing.

The Ole Miss defense has been abysmal and ranks 107th for points allowed.  The Rebels must win their final 2 games to achieve bowl eligibility.

The LSU Tigers have a record of 9-1 straight up and 5-5 with the NCAA betting lines as 7 of their games have gone under the total.  LSU is coming off a 51-0 home payout against Louisiana Monroe last week.  Although the Tigers are eliminated from a shot at the Southeastern Conference title they are still in the hunt for a BCS championship berth.

LSU has had their share of struggles on offense as they rank 95th in the nation overall but their defense is a rock ribbed 5th in the nation.  Steven Ridley leads the offensive attack with 879 yards rushing and 9 touchdowns while the quarterbacking tandem of Jordan Jefferson and Jarrett Lee has been erratic but clutch.

Ole Miss could prove to be a dangerous and live dog as they have paid out in their last 7 consecutive college football betting matchups at LSU.  The dog has covered 4 straight in this series.  LSU is a poor 5-15 against the spread as a chalk of more than 10 points.
