College Football Betting - Michigan vs Illinois

College football betting fans will have their choice of two struggling Big Ten disappointments to handicap the NCAA betting lines with as Illinois hosts Michigan.

College football betting handicappers have seen Illinois fall flat on their face out of the gate with the NCAA betting lines while Michigan has slumped after a nice start. The Michigan Wolverines were the talk of college football betting after winning their first 4 games straight up with 3 payouts against the NCAA betting lines.

But since their epic overtime loss to the college football betting board at Michigan State the Wolverines have gone 1-3 straight up with their lone win against 1-AA Delaware State to now stand at 5-3 both straight up and against the spread and out of the Big Ten race.

Last week the Wolverines were humbled in a 10-35 home loss to Penn State as 3.5-point dogs with the college football betting board.  Head coach Rich Rodriguez is in his second year on the job and the growing pains, while expected, have been frustrating.  “It’s disappointing, and it starts with us as coaches”, said Rodriguez.

“As coaches we have got to try and do a little bit more to get our guys into some situations where we can have some success”.  The Fighting Illini of Illinois have a college football betting record of 1-6 both straight up and against the spread with their only win this year against 1-AA Illinois State.

The Illini offense has been dreadful and ranks 113th in college football betting for scoring while the defense ranks 85th with the NCAA betting lines for points allowed.

Illinois is just 2 years removed from a Big Ten title and Rose Bowl college football betting season and the collapse of the program has angered fans who are calling for head coach Ron Zook’s head. Zook is known in college football betting as a great recruiter that cannot coach or develop players.

This college football betting season has only served to reinforce that reputation. It was just announced that Zook will return, however, for the 2010 college football betting season.

“There will be some changes”, said Illini athletic director Ron Guenther, “but there won’t be a change at the top”.  Michigan has gone over the total in 8 out of their last 10 road games and is 4-2 against the spread in their last 6 games against Illinois.
