March Madness gambling respect is very high for the St. John’s Red Storm as they have risen from the ashes to become a favorite with the March Madness odds.

The Gonzaga Bulldogs will take on the St. John’s Red Storm on Thursday with a starting time of 9:50 PM ET.  Sports Gambling opened with St. John’s as a 1.5 point favorite.  The game can be seen on CBS.  This game will take place in Denver, CO as part of the Southeast regional.  St. John’s is the 6 seed and Gonzaga is the 11 seed.

St. John’s has a NCAA March Madness bet record of 21-11 straight up and 15-16 against the spread.  The Red Storm was 5-7 against the spread on the road and went under the total in just 4 out of 12 games.  St. John’s has slowed down with their board value as of late however with just 1 payout in their last 4 games.

This was coach Steve Lavin’s first year on the job and it was a highly successful year as this former Big East power is back in the conversation and the Big Dance.  Dwight Hardy proved to be a valuable asset as he led the Johnnies with 18 points per game.

Gonzaga has a bet on March Madness record of 24-9 straight up and 16-12-1 against the spread.  The Bulldogs were the regular season runner up in the West Coast Conference to St. Mary’s but won the league tournament that was capped off with a 75-63 win in the title game over St. Mary’s to get their ticket punched.

Gonzaga was 5-4-1 against the spread on the road and went under the total in 6 out of 10 games.  Gonzaga is showing good board value as of late with 4 payouts in their last 5 games.  Gonzaga is one of the better offensive teams in the nation as they averaged 76.7 points per game while allowing 65.1 points per game to rank in the upper quarter of the nation for team defense.

St. John’s opened as a +1400 field selection at Sports-Gambling to win the NCAA Tournament while Gonzaga was a +8000 March Madness gambling selection to win the Big Dance.
