March Madness gambling fans will have a Cinderella Showdown to start the Final Four action on Saturday as two teams that play in mid major conferences have beaten heavy March Madness odds.

The Virginia Commonwealth Rams of the Colonial Athletic Association will take on the Butler Bulldogs of the Horizon League with a broadcast on CBS television and a start time of 6:10 PM ET.  Sports Gambling opened with Butler as a 2.5 point favorite and with a total of 133.5.  The money line opened with Butler as a -145 favorite and VCU as a +125 dog.

Virginia Commonwealth enters this March Madness betting matchup with a record of 28-11 straight up and 18-20 against the spread.  The Rams have gotten the money in all 5 of their NCAA Tournament games.

Virginia Commonwealth is the epitome of a team as they do not have one consistent dominant star and rely on the entire sum of the parts for a well running engine.  Shaka Smart is looking very Smart indeed in putting together this run that will make him a hot commodity for higher profile coaching jobs that are open.

Butler’s Brad Stevens is another hot coaching commodity as his Bulldogs have a bet on March Madness record of 27-9 straight up and 19-13-2 against the spread and are in the Final Four for the second consecutive season.  Butler has covered all 4 of their matchups in the Big Dance and has gotten the money in 8 of their last 10 games overall.

Virginia Commonwealth has gotten the money in 9 consecutive games as a NCAA Tournament underdog and has now paid out in 6 consecutive non-conference games.  Butler has been an outstanding board value in the Big Dance with 17 payouts in their last 22 NCAA Tournament matchups.

The Bulldogs have gotten the money in 40 of their last576 non-conference games and have paid out in 15 of their last 17 neutral site matchups.  The Rams have gone under the total in 9 of their last 13 games as an underdog while Butler has gone under the March Madness gambling total in 7 of their last 9 NCAA Tournament matchups.
