March Madness Odds - Big East a Beast in 2010

March Madness odds handicappers will likely have a choice of several top shelf March Madness betting contenders from the Big East Conference.

March Madness odds will likely favor Villanova but other top March Madness betting contenders look to be Syracuse, West Virginia, Pitt, and Georgetown. Beyond those aforementioned teams the Big East may also offer some quality dark horses with the March Madness odds such as Marquette, Louisville, Cincinnati, and Notre Dame.

The March Madness betting race in the Big East has been highly competitive as there are few easy selections when these teams matchup with the college basketball gambling lines.

Villanova was considered the class of the Big East and its top contender with the March Madness odds in preseason and the Wildcats have done nothing to change that perception.

Villanova, despite their stellar reputation, looks capable of retaining solid value with the March Madness odds as they were 22-2 straight up and 16-7 against the spread while leading the Big East standings in mid-February.  Syracuse was another big money maker that attracted the attention and respect of the March Madness odds handicappers.

The Orange were right on Villanova’s back with a mark of 24-2 straight up and 15-7 against the spread.  West Virginia has continued its improvement under third year coach Bob Huggins and will be a dangerous threat with the March Madness odds.  The Mountaineers were 19-5 straight up but just 9-14 against the spread.

A home loss to Villanova on February 8 may cost them valuable position on the March Madness odds brackets, however.  Pittsburgh continues to be a serious contender with the March Madness odds.  The Panthers had a record of 19-6 straight up and 12-8-2 against the spread.

They scored a signature win over West Virginia on February 12 to pad their resume.  Pitt proved to be a dangerous dog with a mark of 6-2 against the spread when getting points.  Georgetown also padded their resume with a big home win over ACC leader Duke on January 30 and had an overall record of 18-6 straight up and 11-9 against the spread.
