March Madness gambling and UCLA are synonymous but there is an ever growing possibility that UCLA will not need its March Madness betting “dance shoes.” The Arizona State Sun Devils were the lead March Madness gambling contender from the Pac-10 in mid-February.
Arizona State had a March Madness betting record of 18-8 straight up although they were just 9-13 with the betting lines gambling board. Right along with Arizona State was California. The Golden Bears had a March Madness gambling mark of 17-8 straight up and 13-11 against the spread.
Coach Mike Montgomery, who earned his March Madness gambling credentials at cross town rival Stanford, has again worked his magic with the Bears. Cal has scored impressive wins over Washington, UCLA, and Arizona State.
USC would have been a strong March Madness gambling contender but they are on probation and prohibited from post season play. The Men of Troy had a record of 15-9 straight up and 10-11-2 against the spread while scoring an impressive upset win over Tennessee earlier this season.
What USC can do is serve as the league’s spoiler and they have done a solid job in that capacity with wins over Washington, Cal, and UCLA twice.
The Washington Huskies have been a solid March Madness gambling contender under head coach Lorenzo Romar and were also in the Pac-10 race with a mark of 17-8 straight up but just 8-16 against the spread. Washington scored an important win over Arizona State 79-56 on February 6 for an easy payout as 5-point home chalks.
The most surprising March Madness gambling development in the Pac-10 was the fall of mighty UCLA, however. The Bruins were expected to be a strong March Madness gambling contender but were just 11-13 straight up and 10-11 against the spread.
UCLA can still save their season and get a ticket to the “Big Dance” with a win in the post season Pac-10 Tournament.
