March Madness betting expectations will be very high on the Orange despite their disappointment in not winning the Big East Conference Tournament. Syracuse will face 16-seed Vermont in their March Madness betting first round opener on March 19.
The winner of that March Madness betting matchup will take on the winner of the even matchup between 8-seed Gonzaga and 9-seed Florida State. Kansas State is the 2-seed in the West regional and will take on 15-North Texas.
The winner of that March Madness betting matchup will face the winner of the 7-seed BYU versus 10-seed Florida showdown with the March Madness betting line. BYU is known as a team that nobody wants to play and a team with more ability than their 7-seed would indicate.
Pittsburgh earned a 3-seed but was slightly inconsistent during the regular season. They will play 14-seed Oakland in what should be a March Madness betting blowout. The winner of that March Madness betting matchup will take on the winner of 6-seed Xavier against 11-seed Minnesota.
A possible strong sleeper team would be 5-seed Butler as they will take on 12-seed Texas El Paso. Butler was a dominant team in the Horizon League and was ranked around the top 10 nationally for most of the year. 4-seed Vanderbilt was one of the top teams in the SEC this year and had a near upset over Kentucky.
They will take on 13-seed Murray Sate in the opening round March 18. The winner of that matchup will face the Butler-Texas El Paso showdown. Of the four regionals the West is considered by many to be the most balanced and potentially dangerous.
While Syracuse is the favorite there are a host of teams that could end up in Cinderella Slippers with a Final Four appearance. BYU could be especially dangerous as the West Regional finals take place in nearby Salt Lake City, UT.
