March Madness Betting - Sliding Spartans Still a Threat

March Madness betting fans have become accustomed to the Michigan State Spartans being a leading favorite and contenders with the March Madness betting line.

March Madness betting handicappers will again have Michigan State at the top of their lists when evaluating the March Madness betting line but Sparty has been on a recent slide. After looking like a March Madness betting lock to win the Big Ten Conference title Michigan State went into a slump with the March Madness betting line as from February 2 through February 21 their March Madness bet fortunes suffered with a mark of 2-4 both straight up and against the spread.

In fact, Michigan State has been one of the worst values on the March Madness betting board since January 16 as they were 3-8 against the spread since that day.  What has been most alarming about Michigan State’s slump is that it occurred in the heart of the Big Ten March Madness betting race.

This cannot help their overall seeding prospects unless they win the Big Ten Conference Tournament after a strong March Madness betting finish in the regular season.  The latest shocker was a 67-74 home loss to surging Ohio State in a game that the Spartans were favored by 3.5-points.

The loss dropped them out of a first place tie.  Head coach Tom Izzo was not shy about pointing out Michigan State’s March Madness betting problems.  “Chemistry, leadership, distractions,” said Izzo.  “I think they’re more problems than they’ve been in past years.  We are a better team than we’ve played, I think, and it’s my job.”

Michigan State, by all March Madness betting evaluations and accounts, has a talented team that can lineup with almost anyone on a given night.  The key to them having March Madness betting success is pulling that together as they did early in the season when they were one of the top ranked teams in the country.

Sophomore team captain Draymond Green agreed that the Spartans had to iron out their differences.  “I know, just like the rest of us know,” said Green.  “It has to be corrected in order to be a championship team.”
