March Madness Betting Line - North Carolina Paces NIT

March Madness betting line excitement is not limited to the Big Dance as the NIT Tournament offers plenty of NCAA March Madness bet opportunities.

March Madness betting line handicappers may have the ultimate NCAA March Madness bet equivalent of a horse racing “Beaten Favorite” in the NIT with North Carolina. The North Carolina Tar Heels limped into NIT action as one of the worst board values on the March Madness betting line board.

North Carolina was 16-16 straight up and 10-20 against the spread as they began March Madness bet action in the NIT.  But the Tar Heels are a program rich in history and have a tradition of excellence on the hardwood.  Beyond that, they were last year’s National Champions.

North Carolina is one win away from making the NIT Final Four at Madison Square Garden in New York as they scored NIT wins over William and Marry and Mississippi State in the first two rounds of action with the March Madness betting line.

The Tar Heels did not cover the March Madness betting line in their 80-72 win over William and Mary as 9-point chalks but did get the money in an exciting 76-74 win at Mississippi State as 7.5-point dogs.  North Carolina will face Alabama Birmingham on the road in their next NIT matchup on March 23.

The Blazers won and covered over Coastal Carolina and North Carolina State.  Another team that is enjoying success in the NIT is Texas Tech.

The Red Raiders scored a win and cover with the March Madness betting line in their opening round 87-69 win at Seton Hall as 9-point dogs and followed that up with a 69-64 win over Jackson State as 9-point chalks.

Texas Tech entered NIT action as something of an afterthought with the March Madness betting line but seems rejuvenated in the post season.  The Red Raiders will face an Ole Miss team that felt slighted by the NCAA Tournament committee.

The Rebels scored back to back wins and covers in the NIT starting with an 84-65 payout over Troy as 13-point chalks.  That was followed by a 90-81 win over Memphis as 4-point chalks.  Ole Miss has covered 18 out of 28 games on the board this year.
