March Madness Betting - Kentucky Top Seed in East

March Madness betting handicappers will see the Kentucky Wildcats as the top seed in the Eastern regional as the champions of the Southeastern Conference.

March Madness betting odds have Kentucky as a heavy bet on March Madness favorite to make the Final Four and as a prohibitive chalk in their opening game against East Tennessee State on March 18. The March Madness betting road to the Final Four won’t be easy for Kentucky, however, as the East regional is loaded with strong teams.

West Virginia is the 2-seed for this bracket and enters the tournament with considerable momentum as the champions of the Big East Conference Tournament.

The Mountaineers will play 15-seed Morgan State in their March Madness betting opener on March 19.  New Mexico got a 3-seed as champions of the Mountain West Conference for the regular season and will be a dangerous commodity with the March Madness betting line.

They will take on 14-seed Montana.  8-seed Texas was at one time ranked as the top team in the country.  Most March Madness betting handicappers consider the Longhorns one of the most dangerous teams in the country.  They will take on 9-seed Wake Forest with the winner of that March Madness betting matchup to face Kentucky.

5-seeded Temple is another potential minefield for teams to have to face as the Owls won the Atlantic 10 Conference Tournament and have plenty of momentum entering the “Big Dance.”  They will face Cornell in the opening round of the tournament.  4-seed Wisconsin is a solid defensive team that earlier this year beat Duke.

Wisconsin has plenty of “Big Dance” experience and has shown the ability to contend with the best teams in the country.  An interesting matchup of “Tigers” will take place on March 19 between 7-seed Clemson and 10-seed Missouri.

Both teams underachieved in the regular season but have plenty of ability to fill a “Cinderella role” in this year’s dance.”  6-seed Marquette is another team that played well down the stretch as did their opening round opponent, 11-seed Washington.  Washington is coming off an impressive Pac-10 Conference Tournament title.
