March Madness Betting - Big 12 Loaded With Candidates

March Madness betting handicappers would do well to check out the Big 12 Conference as there is an impressive group of teams that could be chalks.

March Madness betting always includes the Kansas Jayhawks in the conversation as a perennial favorite with the March Madness betting line and that is again the case in 2010. Kansas was one of the top “futures” March Madness betting favorites to begin the year and they have only increased their appeal with the March Madness betting line by starting off the season with a record of 16-1 straight up and 7-6-1 against the spread.

Another annual March Madness bet contender is the Texas Longhorns.  Texas climbed to the top of the March Madness betting ranks with a start of 17-0 straight up and 7-6 against the spreads.  Texas did a lot to increase their March Madness betting “street cred” with a win over North Carolina in December in a special game at Cowboys Stadium.

Yet another serious March Madness betting contender from the Big 12 is the Kansas State Wildcats.  K-State got off to a strong March Madness betting start with a record of 15-2 straight up.  The Wildcats are also proving to be a top shelf March Madness betting value as they lost just 3 out of their first 12 lined games against the spread.

Another team that has shown considerable March Madness betting value is the Baylor Bears.  Baylor began the season with a mark of 14-2 straight up and 7-2 against the spread.  Baylor has been operating under the radar screen and that has helped them maintain board value.

The Mizzou Tigers went deep into the “Big Dance” last year and are a legitimate contender to do so again for 2010.  Missouri had a record of 14-4 straight up and 7-5 against the spread and has plenty of veteran leadership and a high pressure style of play that can frustrate opponents.

While the Big 12 may not get the “pub” of the Big East or ACC it has the weapons to make a lot of money come Tourney time!
