March Madness Bet - Virginia Tech Leads in NIT

March Madness bet excitement continues with the NIT Tournament as another way to enjoy basketball betting Madness March action.

March Madness bet fans have often found the NIT to be a basketball betting Madness March home for up and coming teams that were snubbed by the “Big Dance.” The Virginia Tech Hokies are just such a March Madness bet commodity.

Virginia Tech felt totally slighted by the NCAA Tournament committee and entered NIT March Madness gambling action with a chip on their shoulder along with fire and desire to prove the committee made a big mistake in not inviting them.

The Hokies have improved their March Madness bet record to 25-8 straight up and 13-13-1 against the spread as they have won their first two NIT matchups to enter the Elite Eight of that event.

Virginia Tech opened with a March Madness bet payout over Quinnipiac 81-61 as 13-point chalks and followed that up with a thrilling 65-63 win over Connecticut although failing to cover as 4.5-point chalks.  The Hokies will host the Rhode Island Rams in their next matchup.

Rhode Island is on a March Madness bet roll of their own with a record of 25-9 straight up and 13-17-1 against the spread.  Rhode Island scored a March Madness bet payoff over Northwestern in their NIT opener 76-64 as 6-point chalks and followed that up with an 85-83 win over Nevada as 8.5-point chalks.

Despite their recent success Rhode Island has not been a good board value as they got the cash in just 3 out of their last 10 games.  In another outstanding NIT matchup of jilted teams from the main dance floor Illinois will take on Dayton.

The Fighting Illini of Illinois were not happy at all to be passed over for the NCAA Tournament and have played with a vengeance in the NIT with two wins and payouts over Stony Brook and Kent State.  They have scored 4 consecutive payouts.

Dayton has also scored 2 consecutive payouts in NIT wins over Illinois State and Cincinnati.  The NIT brings out the best in some teams when it unfortunately is too late to really matter.
