The Heat will look to duplicate what they did in the first two games of this series at home against Boston. The Heat were 5-point favorites in NBA gambling in the first two games and a similar number should be on the board for Wednesday night.
NBA playoffs odds have really seen the home teams do well in this series. The Heat easily covered the first two games at home in this series while the Celtics won big in Game 3.
That has not been the case in many other NBA playoff series though with the road teams holding their own. Miami won Game 1 at home 99-90 and they came back to win Game 2 by a score of 102-91. Both of those games went over the basketball betting line total.
What is surprising in this series is that the two teams are doing well at home vs. the NBA playoffs odds. In the regular season the Celtics were not that great at home against the odds while Miami was awful. The Heat were actually far better on the road vs. the basketball betting line than at home.
Miami got very strong performances from their big three in the two games in Miami as Dwyane Wade had 38 points to lead the Heat in the Game 1 win while LeBron James had 35 points in the Game 2 victory. Wade has been very consistent in this series while James has been much better at home.
Boston didn’t really show up in the first two games of this series but they did play better in Boston. To win this series the Celtics have to find a way to win in Miami and play better than they did in the first two games of this series. The Celtics did win in Miami earlier this season 112-107 so they have shown they can win in Miami.
Overall, the Celtics and Heat have actually split their last ten meetings in Miami. Somewhat surprisingly, eight of those ten games went over the total in NBA gambling.
