NBA Playoffs Odds - Game 5 - Atlanta at Chicago

NBA Playoffs odds on Tuesday heavily favor the Chicago Bulls in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against the Atlanta Hawks.

The Bulls were the best home team in the NBA this season and not many people give the Hawks a chance on Tuesday in NBA gambling.

NBA playoffs odds have normally favored the home team this year but that doesn’t mean road teams don’t have a chance.  The Hawks actually won the first game of this series in Chicago.

That was a huge surprise in NBA gambling considering how dominant the Bulls have been this season at home.  That loss seemed to wake Chicago up as they routed the Hawks in Games 2 and 3.  Chicago will now try and do the same thing on Tuesday night.

The Bulls win with defense as they were second in the league this season in fewest points allowed. They were excellent defensively in Games 2 and 3 as they allowed just 73 points in Game 2 and just 82 in Game 3.

When the Bulls clamp down on defense they are a very tough team to beat.  Atlanta shot lights out in Game 1 and scored 103 points but this series has shown that game was an aberration as the Hawks are not that good.  The Hawks were just 26th in the league in points per game this season so it is hard to see them duplicating what they did in Game 1.

Atlanta has actually been better on the road vs. the NBA playoffs odds than at home.  The Hawks were dismal in the regular season at home but on the road they were at least worth a look as they finished a game over .500.

The Hawks split the first two games of this series on the road so it is possible they could cover the big basketball betting line in this game although they are unlikely to win straight up.

The Hawks contained Derrick Rose in the first game of this series but since that time the league MVP had pretty much had his own way.  Rose should have another big game on Tuesday night and the Bulls should get a convincing win vs. the NBA playoffs odds.
