NBA gambling handicappers do see the potential for a potential bargain value however as Houston has a key asset with the NBA gambling odds returning this season.

Yao Ming was lost last season due to a foot injury but has returned and will be the starting center.  Yao will play roughly half of all games to ensure his health and availability for what the Rockets and their fans hope will be a return to the post season.

Sports-Gambling opened with Houston as a +3500 NBA betting long shot to win the NBA title.  With a weakened Western Conference the Rockets do merit some consideration as a team that is capable of making a run but obviously the Los Angeles Lakers would have to implode for any realistic shot at a Houston title.

Yao will hook up with Aaron Brooks, who won the NBA most improved player award last year after averaging just under than 20 points per game, which was nearly an 8 point per game improvement over the previous season for the 3rd year pro out of Oregon.

Forward Kevin Martin was a key in season pickup last year from Sacramento and he ended up with a team best 20.6 points per game.  Martin should be even more effective this year after a full training camp with the Rockets.

Brad Miller is expected to split time at center with Yao as he arrives from the Chicago Bulls.  Miller brings offensive ability and credibility as a legitimate backup center that will be able to help the Rockets milk Yao’s worth for all that they can and keep him fresh.

Luis Scola is another key NBA betting online asset that can play both forward and center.  Scola averaged 16.2 points per game last year.  Scola provides valuable depth and versatility that will be needed for the long grind of the NBA season.

Shane Battier is another key component to the Rockets NBA gambling prospects.  He can handle both the guard and forward positions and plays strong defense.

Veteran head coach Rick Adelman brings plenty of credibility from his days at Sacramento where the Kings were perennial Western Conference playoff contenders.  He has 889 career coaching wins.
